New Zealand owned, from the first call to the final switch-on
Solar.co.nz is a New Zealand owned and operated solar installer. Our call centre is here, our installers are employed rather than subcontracted, and we publish our installed prices openly. We work across the country with local crews in each region we serve.
Why we publish our prices
Almost nobody in this industry does. The standard model is to keep pricing behind a consultation so every customer can be quoted differently, and so the number arrives only after a salesperson has had time to work on you.
We think that is the root of the trust problem in solar. So we publish what we charge, we publish what a fair price per watt looks like even when it does not flatter us, and we tell you what cheaper quotes usually leave out.
It costs us some margin on some jobs. It is worth it.

How we are set up
A New Zealand call centre
When you call, you talk to someone here who knows your region.
Employed installers, not subcontractors
The people on your roof work for us. That is how we can guarantee the workmanship.
Local crews
We are national, but the team that turns up is from your area and knows local roofs, local networks and local conditions.
What we will not do
We will not door-knock.
We will not use high-pressure sales tactics or same-day-only pricing.
We will not quote a system larger than you need.
We will not tell you a battery pays back if it does not.
Our accreditations
Solar.co.nz is a member of SEANZ, the Sustainable Energy Association of New Zealand. All electrical work is performed by EWRB-registered electricians and installations comply with AS/NZS 5033 and AS/NZS 4777.2. You can verify all of this independently, and we would encourage you to.
